Is it possible to make a career in the ICT field with no degree?

 Hi, my buddies,

For the past few days, I have received and read to some platforms about the same question about ICT.

ICT is a passionate field. You have to love doing it. But is it possible to make a career in that field just because you love it and no degrees?

Please, share your comment and experience.

I think some experience and tangible guidelines will help few people to find the real decision to take.

As for my answer, we don't have the same fate if I want to take my life experience after about 20 years spent in that field just to wait for a salary. That option is more stressful and requires a lot of adaptation meaning skills. In my function as an ICT, I was performing, Networking, Security Radio Communication, Logistics & Procurement, Administration Management, Infrastructure monitoring and maintenance, Information Management, Rigging, Energy sustainability, Information Security, End-Users support, and training... Sometimes I found myself babysitting 😂😂😂😂😂.....That is how ICT is described in the field that I was exercising.

In my opinion, ICT is still looking for its real name. Some years back, about 25 years ago the ICT was called Telecommunications and the qualification to perform in was Information Technology or Telecommunication. Nowadays, we have Computer Science, Information Security or System, Data Science, Information Science Management. All these are offering Bachelor and Master Degrees with all most the same program courses, starting with IT fundamental.

So my question is still of actuality because our young brothers are confused. They performing ICT no matter what their level of education because it is even a subject a the primary level. My daughter told me one day, "Daddy, I know ICT because we are studying it at school." At this point, she wanted to challenge her ICT expert father. 😀😀😀...

Please, come with your comments, experience, and advice for our coming generation to find their path,
